DAVID LUIZ has revealed that all the talk of a summer move from
Chelsea to Barcelona was more than just a rumour, but that he rejected
the Spanish clubs official offer.
Barcelona were linked with a host of defenders over the summer as they
sought cover for the injury-prone Carlos Puyol, and Luiz was reportedly
high on their list of targets.
But now Luiz, currently away on national team duty with Brazil, has revealed he was unmoved by Barca's offer and chose to remain at Stamford Bridge.

According to Gazeta Esportiva, Barcelona were willing to offer £65m to bring Luiz to Catalonia but was content to remain in London.
Luiz told the paper: "There was an official proposal [from Barcelona], but I opted for Chelsea. It was better for me and better for everyone.
"I am happy to be at a big club and be in the national team representing my country."
And Luiz also said he hopes to win the Champions League this season and is grateful to have avoided big teams in the group stages.
