Sami Khedira is set to become the subject of a transfer battle between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain as both clubs look to improve their squad before the transfer window shuts.
The Daily Star suggest that Real Madrid will be reluctant to sell any of their players to former manager Jose Mourinho after he left under questionable terms.
The article reports that Mourinho is keen on bringing Khedira to Stamford Bridge, as well as goalkeeper Diego Lopez, who he preferred over Iker Casillas last season at Real.
Radio Monte Carlo report that PSG are also interested in the 26-year-old German international and will battle Chelsea for his signature.
Mourinho has said he is looking to strengthen the squad further before September but is focused on working with the players at his disposal for the time being.
"Big clubs will always be connected with big players, but there are always rumours," said Mourinho.
"Until 31 August we will see if someone can improve the squad but my focus is to improve these guys.
"We want to be there [at the top of the table] and will be fighting [for the title]."
Sky Bet have made Chelsea odds on favourite to sign Khedira but nothing official has been reported by either club yet.
